Rock and Pop Foundation trainer books featuring colorful covers and structured music lesson content for young learners.

On behalf of the entire school community, I wish to extend our deepest gratitude for your truly extraordinary support at last night's annual musical highlight.

It is no exaggeration to say that this evening simply would not have been possible without your immense dedication and invaluable contributions.

Your expertise and guidance are so valued as you enable our pupils to gain such rich musical and creative exposure.

The positive impact on the children was palpable; their self-esteem was visibly uplifted, and every parent I spoke with was profoundly impressed by the calibre of the performances.

Thank you, once again, for your unwavering commitment and the profound difference you make.

Music Lessons for Schools

Fully Managed Contemporary Music Education for Primary and Secondary Schools

The Rock & Pop Foundation provides professional instrumental and vocal music lessons in schools through out London and the South East, helping children and young people learn an instrument, develop confidence, perform with others and progress as musicians.

Established in 1995, we have more than 30 years' experience delivering contemporary music education. Our programmes are designed to complement a school's existing music provision while giving pupils access to engaging, structured instrumental and vocal tuition.

We currently work with more than 175 schools and have taught over 70,000 students through Rock & Pop Foundation music programmes.

Fully Managed Music Provision for Schools

Professional Music Tuition

Without the Administrative Headache

Running successful instrumental tuition involves much more than finding a music teacher.

The Rock & Pop Foundation provides a managed school music service, designed to reduce the day-to-day administration associated with peripatetic music tuition.

Depending on the programme, we can manage:

  • Professional music tutor provision

  • Parent enrolment

  • Parent communication

  • Tuition fee collection

  • Lesson administration

  • Timetable coordination

  • Learning resources and digital support

  • Student progression

  • Graded music examination pathways

  • Ongoing programme support

This gives schools a straightforward way to introduce or expand instrumental and vocal tuition while our central team helps manage the programme.

Your school provides the opportunity. We help manage the music programme.

Flexible Music Lessons

to Suit Your School

Every school is different, so our music provision can be structured around your pupils, timetable and existing music offer.

Provision can include:

  • Peripatetic music lessons during the school day

  • Individual music lessons

  • Small-group instrumental lessons

  • After-school music lessons and clubs

  • School band sessions and workshops

  • PPA music provision

  • Live Music Roadshows and assemblies

  • Online music tuition where appropriate

  • Performance opportunities

  • Graded examination preparation

We work in partnership with schools to determine the most appropriate provision rather than applying the same model everywhere.

Fun, Structured Music Lessons

for Children & Young People

Our music tutors combine structured learning with practical music-making to make lessons engaging, progressive and rewarding.

Students can develop:

  • Instrumental or vocal technique

  • Rhythm and timing

  • Music reading and theory

  • Listening skills

  • Creativity and musical expression

  • Independent practice skills

  • Ensemble and band skills

  • Performance confidence

  • Wider musicianship

Our aim is not simply to teach children how to play an instrument.

We want young people to understand music, enjoy making it and develop the confidence to perform it.

Professional Musicians

Inspiring Young Musicians

Our tutors bring practical musical experience into the learning environment.

We believe there is enormous value in children learning from musicians who understand what it means to practise, rehearse, collaborate and perform.

Tutors working with children are subject to appropriate DBS and safeguarding requirements, and our provision operates alongside the safeguarding arrangements of participating schools.

Our objective is to combine professional musicianship with structured, engaging music education that young people genuinely want to participate in.

Learning That Continues

Beyond the Lesson

Weekly tuition is supported by Rock & Pop Foundation learning resources designed to encourage pupils to continue developing between lessons.

Students can benefit from:

  • Rock & Pop Foundation Trainer Books

  • Professional backing tracks

  • Digital learning videos

  • Members' Area resources

  • Structured progression

  • Theory and musicianship support

This gives students the opportunity to revisit techniques, practise with music at home and reinforce what they have learned with their tutor.

Learn in the lesson. Practise at home. Keep progressing.

Music Exams &

Recognised Qualifications

Students who are ready can work towards recognised graded music examinations as part of their musical progression.

The Rock & Pop Foundation operates as a Trinity Rock & Pop Examination Centre in Aldershot — Centre 66105.

Where appropriate, students can be supported towards suitable graded examination pathways, while pupils who do not wish to take examinations can continue developing through lessons, performances and practical music-making.

Our emphasis remains on creating confident, capable musicians rather than making examinations the sole purpose of learning.

Supporting Music Education in Schools

Our instrumental and vocal tuition is designed to complement a school's wider music education and enrichment opportunities.

Rock & Pop Foundation programmes can help schools broaden access to practical music-making and provide pupils with opportunities to:

  • Learn an instrument or develop their voice

  • Experience contemporary music

  • Perform individually and with other musicians

  • Develop creativity and confidence

  • Participate in bands and ensembles

  • Work towards recognised musical achievements

  • Continue making music beyond the classroom

Our provision can be adapted to different educational settings and pupil requirements, subject to discussion with the school.

"Steve and his team put on a very successful event for us and our cluster schools. Extremely enjoyable and a great ice breaker."

For my own staff, it certainly generated an excitement and sense of fun that I discussed as something to hold onto during the coming year! "
